You Have To Promise was selected for the 2020 Pride Plays, produced by Michael Urie and Doug Nevin with festival direction by Nick Mayo. Due to COVID-19, Pride Plays will not be held in person, but You Have To Promise will have a 29-hour reading via Zoom, directed by Jenna Worsham, with an invited online presentation. AUGUST 2018

You Have To Promise received a two-week developmental workshop in New York City, with an invited presentation on August 19th, directed by Rachael Langton, produced by Rebecca Meyers, with actors Bridget Elise Yingling (Maeve), Steph Seiden (Nessa), Nicole Ferguson (Rachael), Molly Richardson (Darcy), and Samanthia Nixon (Stage Directions), and stage manager Stephanie Oliver.

APRIL 2018

You Have To Promise had its second developmental workshop, and its first under its current title, at Ithaca College, directed by Rachael Langton, with actors Kylie Heyman (Maeve), Grace Tiso (Nessa), Connie Bahng (Rachael), Ronee Goldman (Darcy), Chris Farrell Jr. (Shane), and Christine Hwang (Norah), and stage manager Emily Martin.

MAY 2017

You Have To Promise had its first developmental workshop as a full-length piece, under the working title Dancing Through The Rain, at Ithaca College, directed by Rachael Langton.

JANUARY 2017

Scared of Something, one of the ten-minute plays that was the original basis for You Have To Promise, performs in Manhattan Repertory Theatre's January Short Play Competition. Scared of Something then makes it to the finals and is subsequently invited to perform in Manhattan Rep's Playwright's Showcase later that month. Director: Rachael Langton. Actors: Paris Adkins (Maeve), Maggie Snyder (Rachael).

JULY/AUGUST 2016

People Like That, one of the ten-minute plays that was the original basis for You Have To Promise, performs in Manhattan Repertory Theatre's Summer One Act Play Competition 2016, and makes it to the finals. Director: Lisa Purrone. Actors: Hannah Roze (Maeve), Jolie Rose Wasserman (Darcy).
